Position overview

Are you a passionate residential designer with an entrepreneurial mindset? At CPI Interiors, we give talented designers the chance to run their own business under our trusted brand while enjoying the support, systems, and training you need to succeed.

In this role, you’ll lead projects from concept to completion, guiding clients through every stage of the design process. You’ll bring your eye for detail, love of beautiful, functional spaces, and ability to ask the right questions to deliver personalized solutions that delight our clients.

 Role Overview

• Lead confident, client-focused in-home consultations and design presentations, guiding both new and existing clients through the design vision and overall project direction.

• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating schedules, budgets, and deliverables from concept through completion, with support from the Principal Designer and Director of Design.

• Create and present thoughtful design concepts that include space planning, finish selections, and material specifications.

• Prepare detailed drawings, custom millwork concepts, and clearly defined scopes of work for contractors and trades.

• Work closely with contractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure designs are executed as intended and completed to a high standard.

• Plan and attend site visits at critical stages of the project to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain design integrity.

• Review drawings and details with trades to confirm constructability and alignment with the approved design.

• Maintain organized project documentation, tracking key milestones and ensuring clear communication across all parties.

• Stay current with design trends, materials, and emerging technologies, contributing fresh ideas to the studio’s work.

• Represent the studio at industry and community events, including confidently hosting in-studio seminars to support business development.

Qualifications & Skills

• 3–5 years of residential interior design experience.

• Degree or diploma in Interior Design from an accredited program.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Homestyler, and Google Workspace (other design tools a plus).

• Strong understanding of residential construction, millwork detailing, and building codes.

• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and follow-through.

• Exceptional eye for materials, finishes, and custom design details.

• Confident, professional communicator comfortable working directly with clients, contractors, and vendors.

• Self-motivated, organized, and able to thrive independently and as part of a collaborative team.
