The decision to renovate and redecorate came when the homeowners realised they needed new sofas, and they saw it as the perfect opportunity to tackle a full renovation at the same time.
The kitchen layout was redesigned by removing walls to make room for a spacious island with a pull-out recycling drawer, seating for two, and a microwave drawer. The dining room received new furniture and custom built-ins for the pantry and small appliances. An impactful backsplash became the standout feature, with all furniture, lighting, and artwork carefully chosen to complement the rest of the home.
In the living room, the TV was moved above the fireplace and easy-to-maintain cognac leather sofas were selected for both comfort and practicality with their furry pup. A reclaimed wood coffee table tied together their mid-century and farmhouse style preferences, with artwork and accessories echoing the kitchen colours for a cohesive flow. In the principal bedroom, the layout was maintained but refreshed with a new king-size bed and black nightstands to complement the engineered hardwood, while a cosy area rug and natural linen bedding with a blue throw added warmth and comfort.

“Making some big changes to our little bungalow has been on our “one day” list for a very long time. We always had a rough idea of what we wanted (removing a wall between the kitchen and living space, updating the kitchen cabinets) but we weren’t confident in pulling it all together on our own. Meeting Natalie made the decision that much easier. Not only did she come up with a great design for our space, she took the time to listen to us, understand our social and everyday life, and incorporate 2 styles that we love and make it a warm, cozy and functional home.”
