These clients wanted to open up the kitchen, improve storage, and add a shower to the powder room, while also creating a dining space since their existing dining room doubled as a home office. They hoped to refresh some dated finishes and requested a blend of industrial and farmhouse styles for the new space. To meet their wish list, we removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room, creating a combined space that functions much better for everyday life and entertaining.
The garage entry door was relocated from the mudroom to the front foyer to make room for a 3-piece bathroom, and the former powder room was transformed into a storage closet for everything that had been in the mudroom. Wide plank engineered flooring throughout the main floor adds a rustic feel, while practical yet beautiful ceramic tile in the high-traffic foyer and bathroom mimics the look of natural stone, completing the industrial farmhouse aesthetic.
“We chose Natalie Cox to design our new main floor and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! Whether it was material choices, colours, or furniture accent pieces, Natalie was there to guide us every step of the way and she made the entire design process fun and easy!”
